At CEFAM, transfer credits allow you to fast-track your academic journey by validating courses you have already completed at another institution. Your credits can be officially recognized only if they are also accepted by our American partner universities \u2013 ensuring a seamless transition when you join the North American campus of your choice for your final year of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transfer \u201cupper-level\u201d high school courses credits into University Credits at CEFAM<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Advanced Placement Examinations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

AP classes<\/strong> (Advanced Placement) are college-level courses offered in high school through the College Board program (The College Board Program is an<\/em> American nonprofit organization that design and administers standardized tests and educational programs<\/em>). These classes are designed to give students a more rigorous academic experience and the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. They cover material similar to an introductory university course. Taking AP courses while in High school is a way for students to strengthen their college applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the course, students take an AP exam (scored 1\u20135).
CEFAM and its partner require a score of 4 or 5 to transfer credits related to an AP course.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transferring AP course credits save time and tuition, it also allows students to take advanced courses sooner.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Baccalaureate Higher Level courses<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of the two-year IB Diploma Program, students study six subjects chosen from the six subject groups.
They can choose many varieties of subject options. IB courses can be taken at the Standard Level (SL)<\/strong> or Higher Level (HL)<\/strong>, please note that only courses taken that the Higher Level (HL)<\/strong> can transfer at the university level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is a table for IB subjects that can be transferred at CEFAM and its partner schools. IB courses are assessed on a 1\u20137 scale<\/strong>. CEFAM and its partner universities can transfer only Higher Level (HL)<\/strong> courses with a score of 5, 6 or 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transferring to CEFAM from another institution<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For a variety of reasons, you may begin a degree program at another institution but then find yourself wanting to change course or institution. We welcome applications from students wanting to transfer but there are some things to consider before you apply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Notifying your current institution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may want to approach your personal tutor or central support services to discuss your situation and any implications of transferring your studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Visa implications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are an international student studying on a student visa you will also need to seek advice from your institution\u2019s immigration team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Student finance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will also need to consider any impact on your student finance arrangements and consider such matters as fee differentials between your current and target program of studies at CEFAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
